![]() ![]() If you want to be more complex and proffesional like, choose a species not commonly used or make a hybrid (like a hedgynx or a Echidat) avoid raunchy names that just sound bad when combining a species, or simply call them a hybrid like Nugget (whom has 6 different animals in him. Give them a neat hairdo, whether it be punk, classy, preppy, or upbeat. ![]() Try to create variety amongst your character (unless they are a relative which will be discussed later)Pick a unique color or make them multi-toned. Avoid making a deep blue hedgehog with Shadow's quills or giving tails more tails. If you are going to use an overused species (like hedgehogs and foxes and cats) it is a good idea to make them as original looking as possible. When you decide to make a fan character, one must first decide what kind of animal, robot, or hybrid it should be. In order to have a good fan chare, it is a good idea to follow these basic guidelines "Your OC sucks! You have no creativity! Get a life!" While these things may be hurtful, in some cases they may be true. ![]() Here's my design for DazzlingGirl16 Sonic OC, Elizabeth Agalope, a clear example of a good character reference.Krystal's guide for making a good fan chare I'm sure you all have heard this. One thing I recommend you can do for your reference is a view of the back/sides that will give the audience a clearer image of your character. You'll also wnt to draw out their clothes if they'll be wearing clothes. Also, I recommend drawing the ears before drawing hair/quills. When drawing out the hair/quills, you may want to still lightly sketch it out first if you're using pencil on paper, but if you're using a digital software, you can create a new layer and you may use a slightly thicker line and you may make the lines black. Get creative! A few good examples of unique quills/hair for a hedgehog OC are ZiyoLing 's character, Sash Lilac and CobaltPie 's character, Jane Dalia. If it's going to be a hedgehog, don't make the quills shaped like Sonic's, Amy's, Shadow's, or Silver's. For hairstyles/quill shapes, make sure it goes with the character. Now we're going to fill in the details, or in other words, what texture the body will be, what ear size the character will have, what hairstyle/quill shape the character will have, the tail shape, clothes, etc. When you thought up of your OC, move on to the next step. Next you need to think of what the species would look like, what colour scheme it would have, etc. (I'll tell how to do so later on.) If it's going to be a mystical creature like a dragon or angel, try not to make it too powerful. If your OC is going to be a hedgehog, however, I recommend that you try to make it work. It can be anything, from a cat to a dragon to a goat or even a sea creature. There are several steps to this.įirst thing you have to do is think of what you OC will be like. With that said, let's begin with Part 1 of this tutorial!įor you Sonic OC, you first need to think of a design. For this tutorial, I will be using my friend DazzlingGirl16 's OC, Elizabeth Agalope. I will show you all step by step so that way you can follow along easily. Hello everyone! I'm Dii-Star and I'm going to teach you all how to create a Sonic OC. ![]()
